http://VotingOnTheInternet.com is a unique, fresh and totally new concept wherein the people are provided with the tools to actually create an online democracy that they can use to influence the government policies and make laws that directly impact the lives of the vast majority of people in this country. Too often, legislation in Congress is influenced by the special interests. Recently, as a case study provided by 60 minutes shows, most of the Senators, Congressmen and even Government employees, all band together to pass the best laws that represent the interests of Industry and not necessarily the best interests of the public. Drug Manufacturers who make billions of dollars by suggesting how the recent drug prescription bill should be written are just one of the many silent but powerful special interest groups that controls our law-making process. One of the greatest frauds ever perpetrated on the American people was done just a year ago and no one made any noise about it because we're so used to this sort of thing, the people have accepted it as something they can do nothing about. These so-called public servants who force this kind of special interest law on all of us, are then rewarded with 2 MILLION DOLLAR salaried positions from the Industry they just represented in Congress as soon as they leave office and they can't leave fast enough.
Short of a violent revolution, there is little the people can do about this lack of concern for the liberty and freedom that millions of Americans have fought and died for over the centuries. Until today. Now, we can all exercise the power of the ballot, but not every four years as they would like and not only on the candidates they hand pick for us, the ones that will do the same old same old to us and for us. Now, there is a way to vote using the Internet and the Internet will continually grow and evolve to serve the interests of the people. On this web site, we will continually improve the process to make it work faster and better as a real democracy should work.
Without this amazing new technology, all of this country's tax reform bills will be created by the CPA's and the tax attorneys so that they can be kept in plenty of champagne and caviar. All of the insurance laws will be created by the Insurance Lobby. All of the banking bills will be written by the Banking Industry. All of the Investment rules will be created by the Investment Brokerage industry. All of the transportation laws will be written by the automakers. All of the energy policies will be written by the oil companies.
All of this influence peddling has created a bureaucracy within the largest bureaucracy in the world. The American government now has more offices of Lobbyists in Washington D.C. than offices for Congresspeople. And, they are overwhelmed with the payola requests, so much so that they cannot even have a quiet lunch or go for a haircut without being panhandled by a Lobbyist, sometimes three or four times before they even leave their office building. By the time they reach their car in the parking lot, they have been accosted dozens of times. This panhandling of course is the reverse of how you might be accosted on the main street of your city or town. Instead of the panhandlers asking our REPRESENTATIVES for money, they are offering them money. And, frankly how many of us could resist this temptation of millions of dollars if it were offered to us. They are only human and, in a way, you can't blame them for being tempted by these very lucrative offers. They have families to feed just like the rest of us. But, why should their families come first. They are sworn to protect and preserve our freedoms, not their pocket books, the last I heard.
There is a way to salvage the situation and Voting On The Internet is the best one. The Internet is more safe, more secure, less corruptible than any voting machine or polling booth. It is a far more convenient device than the ones at your local public school. It is far faster, can offer thousands of times more information about the issues and it can be fun and entertaining all at the same time. Politics does NOT have to be boring any more. And the people who control it are the most boring group of souls I have ever known. The Internet can take all of that and throw it out the window. More and more of us are making our living on the Internet and have forsaken the nine-to-five rat race. We have more time for our families and we can earn more money while improving the quality of life and by working on the Internet, we help reduce our carbon footprint.
It's time we put all of these advantages to the highest and best use of this country which is the last best hope for human kind. If we fail to see the advantage of voting on the Internet, it could be the last bad decision in a long list of bad decisions that this country is now making. I have faith that the American people as a group, given their great common sense, their community spirit, their love of their country, their God, their families, would be any worse in making decisions than the twisted legal minds who go to Washington strictly for their own personal gain.
America is and always will be an experiment in democracy. It's an experiment that is not working to produce the results we need. Let's introduce some new variables into the mix and see what happens.
