July 31, 2007 - PRLog -- I am 37 and I do not think I discovered that I enjoy writing, but I just found that I had a bit of a flair for it. I have been writing in one way or another for most of my professional career. I am involved in IT and have written everything from technical proposals through to user manuals and all sorts of other documents in between. I write in an easy flowing, conversational style that enables me to present the most complex of ideas in a way that is easily understood. This made writing the book a relatively simple project once it got underway.

My book is non-fiction and is based on my ideas, concepts and many years of research. However it was only late in 2005 that I finally got the inspiration to put all the years of research and ideas together after I helped a friend change her life by listening to my ideas and putting them into practice. It was through this process that the ideas really solidified and I was able to bring it all together for the first time.

When I first started writing I was working full time and I found that I would work on the book whilst I was on the train, however this was spasmodic at best. It was when I was made redundant that I made the best progress and I was able to focus on it fulltime. This meant that the majority of the book was written in two months.

I read such a wide diversity of material. I focus more on the content of the book rather than who wrote it. However I think my most highly regarded author would be Tolkien. The Lord of the Rings series is truly inspired in its level of detail, complexity and still manages to captivate the reader.

When I was first told that my book was accepted for publication I was very excited and perhaps a little surprised. Throughout the publishing process, it was difficult to maintain the excitement of the initial moment and it all only became real when I received a copy of the book for myself and held it in my hand. I have to say that was a very emotional moment. Since the publication I have been focussed on selling the book rather than riding on the back of the initial euphoria of publication. . I am currently building a life coaching business based around the books, and I have several other books underway. I find that I am able to combine both at ease.

Everyone who has read the book has provided excellent feedback.
In my view I think the book needs more depth and detail, and that is why I am working on the sequel. It is called ‘Now That I have your Attention’. I have also written a second book that is currently being published it is called Creating Adults; Not Raising Children (Weighing up the Autistic Scale).

I am available for books signings and personal meetings. 

About the book - Wake Up and smell the Reality:
This book is a practical motivational book full of life changing principles. You will learn to take control of your life & make meaningful changes for the better.

Every choice you have made in your life has led you to where you are at present. Many don’t even know that they are making these choices neither do they realise that the simplest choice they make today, knowingly or unknowingly will affect the rest of their lives. Wake Up and smell the Reality is about looking at where you are, what you are doing, where you are going, and then doing something constructive about it - ‘if it is to be, then it’s up to me’ should become one of your mottos.   Reality is what is going on around you, every moment of every day. Most people don’t take any notice of it; they move through each day on auto-pilot engaged in some form of activity, however being busy with an activity does not mean you are actually making progress –  ‘Don’t confuse activity with progress!’    Written by a real person, who lives in the same real world as everyone else, this is an easy to read book that could quite literally change your life. A lot of it may seem like common sense, but in the words of Brian Fox; ‘Common sense is really not all that common; in fact it can be quite rare.’
