MONROVIA, LIBERIA (July 22nd , 2007) – Students of the African United Methodist University in Liberia will be holding their SWA chapter kick-off event from September 4-6, 2007. They will be focusing on the SWA’s featured pressing global problem of the year, which is human trafficking, from the unique Liberian perspective. Every year, the SWA chooses a different pressing global issue for all of its 13,000 members to focus on.
Their seminar will have many featured speakers, including Anthony B. Bonard, Director of Anti-Human Trafficking at the Bureau of Immigration and J. Augustine Toe of the Catholic Justice and Peace Commission, among others.
The president and founder of the newly created SWA Liberian chapter was inspired to create it from attending the SWA’s yearly International Convention, which took place this past year in Ghana. The International Convention takes place once a year in various locations throughout the world. Past sites include California, Montreal, and Ghana.
