Follow on Google News | Monsters Vs. Cancer.Filipino American writer director Patrick A. Prejusa is doing it himself when it comes to making and distributing movies as well as contributing to charity.
By: WTW Productions Choosing to turn down offers from major distributors, Patrick Prejusa believes he can do a better job of getting the movie out there than some of the companies he has been approached by. It makes no sense to work on something for so long, and then hand it over to a complete stranger just so you can earn a small percentage of the profits. This movie was made in the spirit of DIY (Do It Yourself) and will continue to be DIY in it's distribution stage. Monster Cops: The Midnight Special is The Ultimate, Ultra No Budget, Independent, Digital Video, Cult, Sci-Fi, Horror, Action, Comedy, B-movie. It's Reno 911 meets Blair Witch. It's The Office meets Ghostbusters. A mockumentary look into the world of a Secret U.S. Government Agency dedicated to investigating and destroying monsters, known as Shadow Company aka the Monster Cops. The movie has gotten official selection at a couple of fests and has received some really great reviews. But more than just an indie comedy horror flick. Prejusa is using his movie as a way to contribute to a cause. Motivated by the fact that his mother is a Breast Cancer survivor, and the death of his mother-in-law late last year, a dollar from every DVD sold will go to cancer charities like the American Cancer Society. In the future Patrick hopes to not only continue to raise money for a cure for cancer, but to also support many other causes that need supporting. His goal is to achieve the dreams of entertaining as well as to help heal and fight the fights that need fighting. Patrick A. Prejusa and his crew (Whether The Weather Productions) The movie has been screening in select cities and venues and will continue to do so throughout the year as part of the marketing strategy. The movie is available on DVD through Customflix.com and the official site monstercops.com as well as on amazon.com. You can also host your own screening of the movie through Brave New Theaters.
