Nuclear Power seemed OK, but can we Trust after Kashiwazaki?... Dr. Moore, Author of HILLARY.

Dr. Thomas Moore performed forensic investigations of earthquake damage in many countries, including at nuclear facilities in Japan and California... says we may be seeing just the tip of iceberg at Tokyo Electric crisis regarding nuclear safety.

Los Angeles: Dr. Thomas Moore states that the indefinite closing down of the nuclear plant at Kashiwazaki, due to only a moderate M6.6 earthquake, is significant news. Dr. Moore says he has performed forensic investigations of the earthquake-resistant performance of buildings in many countries, including nuclear facilities in Japan. Dr. Moore says we may be seeing just the tip of the iceberg at the disabled Kashiwazaki Nuclear Plant in regard to issues of nuclear safety."

Dr. Thomas Moore has traced the history of nuclear accidents and structural engineering building failures, in his latest book, HILLARY, which is due for release in August.
Dr. Moore says that he was engaged in the design modifications to the San Luis Obispo Nuclear Plant, California. He states that the plant was constructed over a subsequently discovered seismic fault. This plant is currently operating in California despite these initial mishaps.
Dr. Moore says he was an author of the tarnished investigation of the earthquake damage at the Fukushima Nuclear Plant, which has been closed down indefinitely due to the recent discovery of undisclosed malfunctions from years ago.
There are four active reactors in California on or near major earthquake faults, as are the two at Indian Point north of New York City. An earthquake struck the Perry reactor east of Cleveland, On January 31, 1986, knocking out roads and bridges, as well as pipes within the plant, which fortunately was not operating at the time.
The fault that hit Perry is an offshoot of the powerful New Madrid line that runs through the Mississippi River Valley, threatening numerous nuclear reactors. The Beyond Nuclear Project reports that in August 2004, a quake hit the Dresden reactor in Illinois, resulting in a leak of radioactive tritium. Also, Nevada's Yucca Mountain, slated as the nation's high-level radioactive waste dump, is reported to have a visible fault line running through it.
Furthermore, President Jimmy Carter commissioned a full report on the Three Mile Island nuclear disaster. That report was partially censored. But, if published in its entirety, the full report could have undermined the entire civilian nuclear power industry because the accident at Three Mile Island was reportedly much more dangerous than was ever made public.
Dr. Moore has observed censoring or withholding of forensic information on structural performance under event-loading, evidently to play down vulnerability or uncertainty of US engineering and/or construction practices to resist either earthquakes, wind storms, fire, or explosive forces... to an extent that he feels public safety is being compromised.
Dr. Moore's new novel, HILLARY, exposes societal issues of integrity and conspiracy, and questions what hope a virtuous leader of the future might have of cleaning up the system from six looming issues of integrity.
