The worldwide Russell Bedford audit and consulting organisation has announced the appointment of Misters Audytor Sp. z o.o. as its Polish member firm.
Misters Audytor Sp. z o.o. is a two-partner, Warsaw-based audit and consulting practice, originally founded in 1991 by Barbara Misterska-Dragan.
Ms. Misterska-Dragan is a Certified Auditor, a member of the National Chamber of Certified Auditors and a member of the Chamber’s Accounting Standards Committee. She participated in the UNCTAD Inter-Governmental Group of Experts on International Standards of Accounting and Reporting, and she has been a lecturer at the University of Lodz and other academic institutions. She has been a Member of the Polish Securities and Exchange Commission and is also co-author of two accounting manuals.
During the 1990s, the firm grew quickly to become the leading independent locally-owned audit firm, and for a short time it was the Polish member of another mid-tier network. In 2000, Ms. Misterska-Dragan merged the audit practice into one of the Big-4 groups, becoming a partner in the group's Polish audit firm.
From October 2001 to November 2003, Ms. Misterska-Dragan joined the Polish Government as Undersecretary of State at the Ministry to the Treasury. On leaving the Government, Ms. Misterska-Dragan re-established the audit practice as an independent firm. It has once again grown quickly. Ms. Bozena Pawlowska, an economist
and certified accountant, is the second partner. The firm has six qualified auditors and total permanent personnel of almost 30. Additional freelance audit personnel are retained on an exclusive basis.
