“Technology firms are actively courting the small business market. Some of the latest products are incredibly robust. Yet they are extremely affordable and relatively easy to use,” says Virtual Technology University (VTU) E-Consultant, Roxanne Ravenel. “Incorporating these feature-rich, web-based applications can put a small firm in the position to grow its customer base and its revenue.”
Yet, many small business owners are not utilizing these new technologies or virtual collaboration to their advantage. “The fear of trying something new, a lack of technical savvy, or concerns about the costs or time required to learn new technologies and virtual collaboration strategies often hold people back,” Ravenel says. “Our students are often relieved to discover just how easy it is to use many of the programs and strategies outlined in our workshops. Most of them begin implementing outlined strategies within just a few days of taking one of our workshops.”
