The Thank You Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to honoring and enhancing the lives of military veterans and active duty service members, today announced that it has been selected as a new member of the America Supports You (ASY) Program, a U.S. Department of Defense program that connects citizens and corporations with military personnel and their families serving at home and abroad. The Thank You Foundation has already been featured on the ASY website as a “Homefront Foundation of the Week” for June when the foundation sent thirty soldiers from Fr. Drum, N.Y. to a Reds game.
The appointment as member of ASY follows closely behind the Foundation’s grant of 501(c)(3) status by the IRS. Cheryl Boreland of the law firm, Katz, Greenberger, and Norton, LLP was instrumental in helping the Foundation secure the non-profit status.
“Inclusion in the America Supports You Program highlights the positive attention and growth The Thank You Foundation has experienced recently,” said John Guinn, founder of The Thank You Foundation. “Being a part of the America Supports You Program, as well as our recent grant of 501(c)(3) status, will allow the Foundation to continue honoring and enhancing the lives of the men and women who dedicate their lives to serving this country in the Armed Forces. We couldn’t be happier.”
This weekend, July 20-22, The Thank You Foundation continues its effort to honor local veterans and active duty service members at the MidFirst Ohio Challenge at Smith Park in downtown Middletown, Ohio. The MidFirst Ohio Challenge is a three-day festival centered around competitive hot air balloon events and demonstration skydiving. The Thank You Foundation has joined forces with Team Fastrax Skydivers, which is a featured act during the Ohio Challenge, to present The Thank You Foundation/Team Fastrax Thank You Tour, where skydivers will jump in honor of the Armed Forces at 24 locations nationwide throughout the year.
Daniel Smith, writer and performer of the “Thank You” song, will be performing a military appreciation concert at the event, while The Thank You Foundation will be honoring several local soldiers from the 324th Military Police Company located in Middletown. The foundation will also be providing Thank You cards for the public to sign, which will be sent to troops at the Fisher house, overseas, and at VA centers across the country. The cards will be made available at no charge, but donations will be encouraged to support the various programs offered by The Thank You Foundation.
