TalkTalk will now offer free broadband to customers signing up to its Talk2 International tariff which costs £5.89 a month.
Talk2 International’
Previously free broadband was only available to customers signing up to TalkTalk’s Talk3 tariff which costs £7.49 a month plus line rental of £10.50.
Broadband Genie CEO Philip Wilkinson says: “This is a good deal for customers looking for a bundled phone and broadband product and it’s good to see TalkTalk continuing its price war with BT.
“However TalkTalk has suffered from a poor reputation since the launch of its free broadband offer at the beginning of last year. Customers are reporting problems in activation times and the reliability of the connection. Another thing that people should bear in mind is that TalkTalk’s free broadband offer is only available to the 70% of UK households that live in one of TalkTalk’s ‘local loop unbundled’ areas. Elsewhere the broadband will cost £15 per month on top of the price of the call package and line rental.”
