Depression Is Very Common!

Depression is very common — it affects an estimated 19 million American adults every year. Nearly twice as many women (6.5%) as men (3.3%) suffer from depression each year.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)Jul 15, 2007 – Are you sad and lonely?  Do you feel that your voice is not heard when you speak?  Do you feel like you can not go on yet you still wake up every morning and wonder to your self why?

If you have every felt this way then there is a chance that you suffer from depression.
Depression is a serious medical condition. Everyone experiences "ups" and "downs" in their life. But for some people the "downs" can outweigh the "ups." This can cause problems with everyday activities such as eating, sleeping, working, and getting along with friends.

Life is hard and sometimes it can be such a struggle.  Most of us keep the way we feel bottled inside for many different reasons, but for the most part we keep it inside because we have no one to talk to about what is going on is our minds.  Depression is very common — it affects an estimated 19 million American adults every year. Nearly twice as many women (6.5%) as men (3.3%) suffer from depression each year.

We sometimes feel misunderstood and taken advantage of and we just want out.  We want someone to listen to our cries because what seems minor to one person is another person’s breaking point.

Depression is real….if you know someone who looks as if they may be going through something don’t be afraid to lend your support.  Sometimes by just simply asking someone how they are feeling may be a passage way to saving that person’s life.

The good news is that depression is treatable.  You can tell your doctor about your symptoms or if you don’t have a doctor you can call the Nation Institute of Mental Health.
