The Mom’s Choice Awards® were established to honor family-friendly media, products and services. Award winners are selected for their noteworthy cover designs and innovative content. Books are judged by a team of parents and industry leaders.

iUniverse finalists in the 2006 Mom’s Choice Awards® are QX and the Dream Runner by James Goodson and Waiting for the World to End by Nicole Hunter.

QX and the Dream Runner, nominated in the Young Adult category, revolves around the life of QX, a teenager struggling with the changes that come with growing up. The story follows her quest to develop her own identity and find personal acceptance.

Waiting for the World to End, nominated in the Adult Fiction category, is a novel that shows what happens when secrets of the past come back to affect the future. The story raises the issues of abortion, faith and love in contemporary middle America.

Winners will be selected at a star-studded, red-carpet gala on Oct. 13, 2007, at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. Award recipients will receive the prestigious Mom's Choice Awards® book jacket seal which can assist parents and educators in choosing appropriate books for their children.
