The John R. McAdams Company, Inc. Expands Planning and Zoning Capabilities in Charlotte

McAdams Company, Inc., a 180-person land development design firm http://www.johnrmcadams.com with offices in Durham and Charlotte, recently employed William Edward Moore IV, AICP, as a Senior Planner in their Charlotte office. Moore is responsible for directing zoning and entitlement aspects for all Charlotte projects. Acquiring Moore’s expertise and familiarity with the City of Charlotte’s development regulatory processes http://www.johnrmcadams.com is another step that McAdams Company’s Charlotte office, now with 17 employees, has taken to enhance its already comprehensive services in the market. The Charlotte office now provides a full continuum of land development services including surveying, land planning, due diligence, permitting and zoning administration, and site engineering services including civil, stormwater and environmental and traffic.

Mr. Moore holds over 10 years’ experience in the urban and regional planning discipline, and has worked both in the private sector and for local government. Before joining The John R. McAdams Company, Moore performed as a Senior Planner with the City of Suffolk, Virginia and for the Village of Bolingbrook, Illinois. Most recently, he was a Principal Planner for the City of Charlotte Planning Commission where he worked on complex planning challenges, focusing on developing land use plans and making policy recommendations. Moore also spent considerable time meeting with land developers to review site plan components prior to rezoning and development submittals. His responsibilities have encompassed the early stages of site investigation, site selection, and due diligence, through the planning, design development and jurisdictional permitting processes.

Mr. Moore earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning at East Carolina University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) as well as the American Planning Association.
