Sky Software releases new v2.0 of EZNamespaceExtensions.Net with new features and Vista support.

EZNamespaceExtensions.Net is a framework for rapid development of shell namespace extensions in .Net. It eliminates the complicated process of developing namespace extensions and supports features which enable extension to integrate into Explorer

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)Jul 06, 2007 – Anyone who does namespace extension development can attest to the pains and frustrations, difficulties and subtleties, and even the bugs and limitations of the Windows Shell and of the Shell API itself. Terms such as PIDL and ITEMIDLIST can give developers nightmares. Skimpy and often erroneous documentation makes matters worse. Developing namespace extensions from scratch is an extremely time-consuming effort. It can take days just to get a minimal namespace extension going and this is just the beginning. As soon as you start to add other features such as context menus, drag-drop, details/report view, thumbnail view and group/category view, the time required can get blown into weeks and weeks on end and put a project schedule out of orbit. Developing namespace extensions in .Net only makes the matters worse. One now has to deal with the additional complexities of COM Interop, correct and working shell interface definitions and API structures and plenty of other arcane things.

For developers looking for a way out of all this, the new v2.0 of EZNamespaceExtensions.Net is the prefect solution. EZNamespaceExtensions.Net is a well designed and thoroughly tested framework which relieves the developer of all the time-consuming tasks required for developing namespace extensions in .Net. With EZNamespaceExtensions.Net, a developer can concentrate on writing the functionality of his namespace extension and not worry about the hundred things that are necessary to develop a usable namespace extension.

Shell namespace extensions developed with EZNamespaceExtensions.Net support all kinds of features including folder/non-folder items, sub-folders, sub-folder navigation, custom views, details/report view, contextmenus, background contextmenus, drag-drop, icons, overlay icons, thumbnails, group/category view, tile view, property sheets and many other features which enable the namespace extension to integrate smoothly and seamlessly into Windows Explorer and other browsers.

EZNamespaceExtensions.Net even comes with VB.Net and C# Project Wizards integrated within the Visual Studio.Net IDE. Just select a new 'Shell Namespace Extension" project and skeletal code for a read-to-build-and-view namespace extension is automatically generated. This enables the developer to directly start adding the functionality of his namespace extension and not waste time laying the groundwork. EZNamespaceExtensions.Net also comes with various VB.Net and C# sample applications which the developer can use as a good starting point for his own namespace extension.
The new v2.0 of EZNamespaceExtensions.Net features improved File Open/Save dialog support, improved drag-drop support, improved support for Windows Vista, plenty of new APIs and bug-fixes.

EZNamespaceExtensions.Net supports all versions of Visual Studio and the .Net framework including the latest Visual Studio 2005 and .Net 2.0. EZNamespaceExtensions.Net is available directly from Sky Software. Trial versions and detailed product information is available at http://www.ssware.com/eznamespaceextensions/eznamespacee .... Development licenses can be purchased starting from US $295. Multi-developer licenses, site licenses and Support and Upgrade Subscriptions are also available.
