July 3, 2007 - PRLog -- The victims are found along Landings Beach’s coast, buried up to the neck in sand.  Trapped below the high tide mark, they should have drowned, yet are inexplicably alive when found days or even weeks later.  A strange bacterial infection found in each of the victims baffles doctors and angers the group of immortals that live quietly among the small town’s citizens.  Only they know that the reason for the victim’s survival is their immortality; they drown repeatedly without the release of death.

Local lawyer Tara Delacruz’s successful acquittal of a known thief has the town outraged.  Her client’s release coincides with the latest attack, and the formerly friendly citizens are now convinced she set a killer free.  The anger directed at Tara brings her to the attention of Cord Smith, the handsome young mayor and father of Tara’s favorite tutoring student.  Cord steps in to offer Tara his protection, and the attraction between the two flares hot and deep.

Finding the latest victim sickens Cord.  An immortal himself, he’s horrified at the perpetual torture the boy suffered.  The victims have been homeless and teenaged runaways, and Cord fears for the safety of his teenaged daughter, Kerrigan.  When the town targets Tara for retribution, Cord is quick to defend her, and even quicker to fall for the sassy lawyer.  But his desire for Tara is shadowed by his immortality, for he knows that he will never age with her and is destined to live for eternity without her.

In a small town, everyone and everything seem intertwined.  When the ‘coincidences’ start adding up, Tara digs further into her clients backgrounds and the attacks, looking for a connection.  But someone knows what she’s doing – someone that will do anything to stop Tara from exposing the truth.

Set along the beautiful and mysterious California coast, MINING EVERMORE pairs sensuous romance with chilling suspense.  Tara’s intelligence and upbeat attitude is a perfect match for Cord’s easygoing but broody nature, and the two mesh together like longtime lovers.  The mystery itself has a Hitchcock-type feel and is appropriately spine-tingling.  Author Kathleen Rowland has penned an engrossing romantic thriller that will keep you guessing through the end.
