SYRACUSE, NY (June 5, 2007) --- Coordinators of the fuse2007 business and technology conference scheduled October 9 – 10, 2007 at the Syracuse Oncenter today announced confirmation of one of its keynote speakers, Judy F. Marks, president of Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) Transportation and Security Solutions. Marks will deliver the luncheon keynote address, “A New Paradigm: Challenges and Opportunities for Security Solution Providers in a Global Society,” as part of the conference’s focus on defense and security technologies and opportunities.
Based in Rockville, Maryland, Lockheed Martin Transportation and Security Solutions specializes in air traffic management; transportation, airport, physical and border security; and civil agency efforts involving advanced systems for managing sensitive information. In addition to these specialized areas, a significant portion of the business is dedicated to programs that assist homeland security and law enforcement organizations.
Marks manages three lines of business, which focus on advanced aviation management, security and other information technology solutions. Prior to joining Lockheed Martin Transportation and Security Solutions, Mrs. Marks served as president of Lockheed Martin Distribution Technologies and was instrumental in positioning the company as a leading, global supplier of automation and recognition systems for postal providers such as the U.S. Postal Service and the United Kingdom’s Royal Mail.
Marks started her career with IBM in 1984 as a systems engineer and served in a variety of positions including engineering management, program management, business development and marketing positions before her appointment as Lockheed Martin Distribution Technologies president in 2001.
Marks holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Lehigh University in Pennsylvania and serves on many advisory boards, including vice chair for New Jobs for New York, a not-for-profit organization designed to encourage economic development throughout the state. She also recently joined the board of the International Association of Chiefs of Police Foundation.
