“Even When You're With Me” is one of those radio friendly songs that hits you right in the gut. Powerful, emotional and moody, Sesha sings her heart out in a tale about a love that has long gone. Such a song demands an honesty not seen in the likes of many a pop star and such honesty comes from within and Sesha sure has got a place deep within to dig deep and pull out such emotion.
At aged 15 she moved out of home and has been independent ever since. She once lived in a crumbling apartment which began to fall apart nearly killing her housemates. But even in those dark days Sesha found solace in singing. Listening and learning from the likes of Kelly Clarkson, Joss Stone and Aretha Franklin, Sesha has spent the last 2 years working with Melbourne producer DJKZ honing her talent and perfecting her craft. Now she has the chance to show the world what she is made of. Her debut single “Even When You're With Me”, written by David Allen Kirchner & Ira Richard Rogers, has already proven to be popular in Europe having been covered by multi platinum European artist Chenoa.
“One of the things that particularly struck me about Sesha was her dedication, commitment and drive to succeed. She has taken everything in her stride and has grown immensely from the first time I saw her back in 2005. She is in it for the long haul and that kind of determination pays off in the long run”. DJKZ (writer/producer)
Sesha's dedication and concentration owes a lot to the days when she was a competitive rock climber as well as being independent from the age of 15. Now she has blossomed into a smart young woman who has seen it all and is now in a position to share her experiences through the power of music.
“I think I’ve lived more than most people my age. I’ve always done risky things because they make me feel alive. I moved out of home at just fifteen so I always felt different to the other kids at school. Growing up in an environment with no boundaries made me learn a lot of lessons the hard way. A lot of the time I was blindly experimenting and sometimes I was deliberately going against the grain of what I thought I should be. I’ve always believed that a person is the product of their choices, and you can choose who you want to be. The thing is, it’s taken me so long to find out what that is. It’s been four years since I finished high school and it’s taken me that long to realise that some structure, some boundaries in one’s life is a good thing. I’ve finally started a business degree at Uni. I’m more focused than I’ve ever been, and the passion that drives me is music. If you are going to be on this planet then you should have something to show for it”. Sesha.
“Even When You're With Me” is out now on Vhp Records Aus and can be downloaded directly from www.vhprecords.com/
