2007 Golden Pinhead Awards
While not quite at the level of the Academy Awards, the 2007 Pinhead Video Awards Presentation was a hit with Home Video Enthusiasts around the globe.
According to the website, www.myvideohobby.com, the latest Pinhead Video Awards Competition was a tremendous success. Entries were submitted from around the world and included the United States, Great Britain, Canada, Germany and Australia.
Pinhead is an online character created in 2006, who is somewhat of a likeable loser. His image is used in a friendly competition by home video enthusiasts who create short online movies as a way to improve their proficiency with various video software and movie making techniques.
The 2007 Pinhead Video Awards are sponsored and supported by many leading international video software companies including Prodad, Pinnacle, Time Image, Smartsound and Corel.
Pinhead Project 2 closed on June 8, 2007 and invited fans and participants to vote for their favourite videos in various categories.
The video chosen by a panel of judges which received the Grand Prize GOLDEN PINHEAD Award was Yvette from Canada , for her video entitled "Pinhead's New Family" She received the Editor's Choice Package from Prodad. This prize package was worth $1,300 U.S. and is an amazing group of special effects that make the user’s videos stand out.
With online votes cast from around the globe, the latest Pinhead project was most exciting. In addition to the Grand Prize, other GOLDEN PINHEAD Award winners included:
K F Daddy (USA) for "Best Overall" for his video "I Pinhead" and Runner-up for “Best Animation and Technical Effects”
Yvette (Canada) for "Best Beginner" and "Best Comedy"
Colour (UK) was Runner-up for “Best Comedy”
Michele R (Australia) won for "Best Screenplay"
Wires (Germany) took the "Runner-up" award for "Best Screenplay"
Ahroo (USA) captured "Best Animation and Technical Effects"
All participants took part in a draw for prizes donated by corporate sponsors of the project. Pinnacle winners included Wires with the Moviebox USB plus Studio 11, Catwoman (USA) with the HD TV PC Prostick and Michele R with HFX 3. Kayla (USA) took the Time Image DVD and gjslaw (USA) was the lucky winner of the Movie Music from Smartsound. K F Daddy and Ahroo were the lucky winners of the Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo 11 software packages.

The organizers congratulated the many participants who spent countless hours, days and months working at their home computers as they produced their Pinhead movies.
