THE Guide to San Ramon provides a resource for visitors and residents of San Ramon, Costa Rica. San Ramon is one of the larger Central Valley coffee towns, centrally located on the Inter-American Highway midway to the Pacific Coast and Volcano Arenal. It is set in a picturesque valley enclosed by lush and fertile mountains.
THE Guide was created by Steven Freidmutter and Janet Shure, partners in Paradise Management. Steven, a former mortgage banker and restaurant owner has lived in San Ramon for over six years. Janet Shure, whose career spans numerous aspects of residential real estate and historic preservation planning, has lived in the Costa Rica Central Valley for three years. Together they created this Guide to hotels, restaurants, cafes, nightlife, shops, services and cultural sites to encourage visitors to get to know their adopted home and all it offers.
We believe San Ramon provides the best Costa Rica offers. It is a close-knit city with a slower pace of life. The San Ramon that visitors see today is a "muy tranquilo" provincial city that welcomes travelers with a graceful sense of pride. In the streets you will hear the greeting "Pura Vida" (pure life) a motto that encapsulates the pervading ideology of living in peace and appreciating a life surrounded by nature and family and friends.
