Sunday, May 06, 2007 (SAVANNAH, GA) -- Holland America Cruise Lines will make their first voyage to Savannah Harbor Sunday, May 6, with more than 1,000 passengers aboard the ms Maasdam.
The ship will dock at Ocean Terminals 1 & 2 from 8 a.m. - 10 p.m., for a one-day excursion in Savannah before continuing the 15-day cruise to Quebec City, Canada. The Port of Savannah will be the ms Maasdam’s first stop from its embarkation point of Fort Lauderdale, FL.
While in port, passengers will be shown the sites of the Savannah Historic District by Old Town Trolley Tours and have an opportunity to explore downtown at their leisure. The Savannah Convention &Visitors Bureau is encouraging partner attractions, restaurants, and retail establishment to prepare for the influx of visitors in to our city this Sunday afternoon.

At more than 720 feet with a passenger capacity of 1,258 and a crew of 557, the Holland America vessel is the largest cruise ship to pass through Savannah Harbor. The ms Maasdam is the fifth ship in Holland America Line's more than 130-year history to bear the name.
