FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release)Jun 19, 2007 – June 18th through the 25th is national take your dog to work week.  It's a typical day at the office. You're under a tight deadline, juggling too many projects to count. The report your boss wanted yesterday is somewhere under the huge pile of papers on your desk and your e-mails won't end! What's a person to do? Let your best friend help you de-stress and lick the workday blahs! People can't help but relax and smile when they pet a dog. So for at least one day, take your dog to work during the week of June 18 through the 25th, 2007.

Dogologie is encouraging companies everywhere to participate in Take Your Dog To Work Week.
More than 64 million U.S. households report owning a pet, a total of 65 million dogs nationwide. In the average workplace, that translates to 62 percent of employees who own dogs. Each year, more and more of them are bringing their canine co-workers along for a day on the job. Studies show that having a dog at work can create a more relaxed and productive work environment. Introduce some tail-wagging wage earners to your workforce and you will likely find that creativity, interpersonal skills and positive work relationships will increase-while stress levels and absenteeism decrease!

One day does make a difference.   People bringing their dogs to work for one day in celebration of  Take Your Dog To Work week can make a huge difference in the adoption rates at shelters everywhere. Dog-less co-workers will see the human-animal bond enjoyed by their colleagues who are dogparents-and then adopt pets from local animal shelters. It's also important to note that there are thousands of older animals that deserve a second chance, too.

Important things to keep in mind are to only take well-groomed, well-behaved, flea and tick-free dogs to work. They should also be house trained and socialize well with other pets and people. Designate an area for the dogs to do their business and be sure everyone knows their responsibility to clean up after their dogs. You know your dog best. If he/she wouldn't be happy at work, take a photo instead.

Don't forget to doggie-proof your work area, and take along comforts from home like a toy, treats, food, food dish, leash, bed, crate or anything else that will make your dog comfortable.  Work with your local shelters to help them get homeless pets adopted.  By participating in this doggie day, Fido may not help you meet all the demands of your job, but he can definitely make one day more fun and less stressful for you and your co-workers.
