PRLog (Press Release) – Vienna, Austria – June 19, 2007 – Ronetix today announced the availability of the new firmware of its high speed, low cost JTAG/BDM Emulator and Flash Programmer. The new firmware adds support of debugging and FLASH programming of Analog Devices Blackfin Processors. This includes all Blackfin CPUs like ADSP-BF532, ADSP-BF533, ADSP-BF537, ADSP-BF538, ADSP-BF539, ADSP-BF561. PEEDI supports all internal memories: Instruction SRAM, Data SRAM, Scratchpad SRAM as well as the ability to program and access linearly flash devices that are bigger than the visible external asynchronous memory space.

Now PEEDI can be used for high speed GNU gdb debugging and Flash Programming of all ARM7, ARM9, and XScale based MCUs, Freescale Nexus enabled PowerPC, ColdFire as well as Blackfin.

PEEDI can be used in standalone mode to program more that 800 flash devices as well as AT91SAM7, LPC2000, MAC7100, STR7, STR9, TMS470, NAND FLASH, Atmel DataFlash families, MPC5500 families, ColdFire MCF52XX and Blackfin.

PEEDI supports native GNU gdb/Eclipse and provides a very high real download speed – up to 1.25 Mbytes/s. For rapid starting a new project Ronetix provides complete GNU toolchains including Eclipse for Linux and Windows for ARM/XScale, PowerPC, ColdFire and Blackfin. The toolchains can be downloaded for free from the company’s website.

For an easy and quick start in the Blackfin programming Ronetix provides a Starter Kit with ADSP-BF537. The Starter Kit consists of a CPU Module and Base Board from the Austrian company Bluetechnix, the high speed JTAG Emulator PEEDI and open source software: GNU toolchain, U-Boot and uClinux.

Among the advantages of PEEDI are:

-   Multi core support - up to 4 cores
-   Built-in support for gdb (remote target via Ethernet).
-   Very high real download speed – up to 1.25 Mbytes/s.
-   5 kHz – 33MHz JTAG/BDM clock using 35cm standard cable.
-   Target Voltage 1.2V – 5V.
-   Built-in telnet command line interface.
-   Built-in very fast Flash programmer that supports over 800 Flash devices.
-   Can be used as a standalone Flash Programmer, up to 15 images can be stored on MMC/SD card controlled by front panel interface.
-   Small robust aluminum case.
-   DCC over TCP support.
