BOSTON, June 2007—The Trimount Communications Group, http://www.trimountcommunications.com, is celebrating its 15th anniversary with the launch of its newest service, the MediaSmart Training Program. MediaSmart joins the SpeakOut and WriteNow Training Programs as the third member of Trimount’s trio of workshops geared to helping clients improve their communications skills.
MediaSmart Training Program
“Being questioned by the press can be a little scary,” says Christopher Dingman, Trimount’s founder and principal, “especially for someone who hasn’t had to do it before. With MediaSmart, we train people so that they know what to expect.”
Using mock interviews, MediaSmart prepares clients to stay on message in dealing with the media either one on one or in a press conference.
MediaSmart also works closely with clients to position their companies in the best possible light. “While you can't stop a reporter from asking tough questions, you can be ready with honest answers which don't leave your company hanging out to dry. MediaSmart teaches clients that being honest doesn’t mean being dumb,” notes Dingman, who cites Johnson & Johnson’s response to the Tylenol poisonings as a perfect example of being honest with the press and the public.
Speech and Writing Training
While MediaSmart is the newest of Trimount’s training workshops, the company’s flagship program, SpeakOut, continues to receive enthusiastic reviews from clients who have taken the course. SpeakOut trains clients to master the challenges of public speaking including overcoming fear and developing rapport with audiences. Trimount’s third program, WriteNow, teaches clients the basics of good business writing so that their letters, memos, and reports are clear and to the point.
Working in concert, these three programs give clients the tools they need to express themselves and advance their careers.
