Old Fields, WV 26845- True Blue Coffee Roasters recently sent fifteen pounds of Organic Fair Trade gourmet coffee to soldiers stationed in Kandahar, Afghanistan. “We were surprised when got the e mail from SFC DiNicola, but we didn’t hesitate to send them our gourmet coffee,” Linda Keller, co-owner of True Blue Coffee Roasters said. “Supporting our military men and women is the least that we can do.”
“This has nothing to do with being pro-war or anti-war,” Ms. Keller went on. “This is about giving back to the men and women who have given so much for us. If a good cup of gourmet coffee reminds them of home, then True Blue Coffee Roasters intends to see that they get it.”
According to SFC Michael DiNicola, serving in Afghanistan, small things like a good cup of coffee is what the soldiers miss most. “We desperately miss good coffee,” SFC DiNicola wrote. “It would sure lift our morale up a notch.”
June 11th, True Blue Coffee Roasters shipped out bags of Deep Forest Blend, (a dark roasted blend of Organic Fair Trade coffees), Mayan Journey Blend, (a blend of South American Organic Fair Trade coffees), and Mystic Gardens Blend (a blend of light and dark roasted Organic Fair Trade coffee). “These are some of our finer blends, and we wanted to send them a mixture of coffees that would cover the spectrum from light roast to dark roast”, Ms. Keller explained. “That way, there will be gourmet coffee for everyone’s taste.”
