Independent Directors and Chief Auditors from some 18 countries will be meeting at the Asia Pacific Audit & Governance Summit 2007, in Kuala Lumpur. Topics that will be covered include the real quality of corporate governance; benchmarking for audit committees; the performance of internal auditors; the high levels of corporate fraud; the new areas of investor relations and CSR and risk management practices in leading companies.
The Auditor General of Malaysia, is the keynote speaker. Other prominent speakers and panellists include Audit Committee Members; Chief Internal Auditors; the President/CEO of Singapore’s Securities Investors Association;
Commenting on the Summit, Navin Pasricha, the convening Chairman from Columbus Circle Governance said, “This is the third year the Summit is being held in Kuala Lumpur. The format reflects the real world challenges to which participants want solutions and insight. For instance, the new areas of investor relations and CSR reporting have extended the responsibilities of all corporate governance practitioners. This reflects the growing strength of the partnership between internal auditors and board audit committees; although there are separate tracks for technical sessions. Both parties have tremendously important roles in achieving high corporate governance standards for their organisation.”
