No special software is required for playback -- files can be shared and played back with Windows Media Player.
The Olympus DS-50, DS-40 and DS-30 Stereo Conference Recorders designed specifically for use with the ME30W Microphone Kit. The three recorders are essentially the same device with different storage capacitates from 256MB to 1GB. The DS-50 which has 1G built-in Flash Memory is also packaged with a few extra accessories including a remote control that allows you to control recording and stop functions.
If you are worried about battery life, the Olympus DS-50, DS-40, and DS-30 can be used with the A321 AC Power adapter. However, average battery life for recording is approximately 32 hours for these devices.
Should you desire to transcribe the recorded files, Olympus offers two compatible transcription kits. The transcription kits include the DSS Player software and a computer foot pedal to facilitate transcription via the pc.
