Liu Gaozhuo,president of AVIC I and Xu Zhanbin,vice president of AVIC II were present in the signing ceremony and signed on the contracts as witnesses. Senior vice president of Boeing Ms. Carolym Corvi and the president of CATIC Fu Shula signed on these five contracts. The president and general manager of Chengdu Aircraft Corpoarion Luo Ronghuai,the president and general manager of Shenyang Aircraft Corporation Li Fangyong and the president and general manager of Harbin Aircraft Corporation Hu Haiyin also signed on the contracts on behalf of the manufacturing enterprises respectively.
According to these contracts, the Aviation Industry of China will manufacture a series of important components for Boeing 787 and become the sole supplier. Among these components, Chengdu Aircraft shall produce the rudder made from reinforced carbon fibre composites, Shenyang Aircraft shall produce the leading edge of the vertical stabilizer which is a combination of carbon fibre and metal structures and Harbin Aircraft shall produce the radome which is a glass fibre structure. Before, Chengdu Aircraft has already started to produce and deliver the emergency doors and the front passenger doors of Boeing 737 and now it becomes the major supplier for these components.
CATIC joined in the negotiation process of all these contracts and shall be responsible for the implementation of all the commercial affairs.
Boeing 787 is the newest twin aisle airliner under development with a basic seat arrangement of 230 and will enter in service in 2008. It has received 260 firm orders from different airlines of the world. Boeing 737 New Generation with basic seat arrangement of 150 is the best selling airliner in the world and stays in the first place in the market share in its class. There are more than 4000 Boring 737 airplanes in service today and it is being produced at a rate of 24 airplanes per month right now.
Senior officers from the State Commission of Development and Reformation, Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense joined in the ceremony. Also presented in this activity are officers from AVIC I, AVIC II and CATIC including CATIC's vice president Ma Zhiping and general manager of CATIC's division of Supply-Chain Management & Procurement Yang Chunsheng. Representatives from news media including CCTV reported the whole process of this activity.

To date, six major airlines of China including Air China, China Southern Airlines etc have ordered collectively 60 Boeing 787s with a contract value up to 7.2 billion US dollars and has become the launch customer with the biggest order and the number of Boeing 737s in service at different airlines of China has been over 500.
