Sometimes referred to as “The Mouthpiece for Mental Wellness”, Karen speaks openly about living with Panic Disorder for 30 years and her 5 years of being in recovery. She wants to break the stigma and shame attached to living with a mental health disorder.
When Karen started her recovery program five years ago, she could not imagine a life free from Panic Disorder and Anxiety. Now she is grateful to be living that life.
For 30 years of her life, she was hostage to sometimes-daily Panic Attacks. She was plagued by constant fears of dying from a heart attack, stroke or something equally fatal. She lost count of how many times a day she checked her pulse. Calling 911 was her lifeline and Paramedics were regular visitors to her home. Those days are long behind her.
