The 2007 European School of Economics Awards will be handed out to graduating students from all five ESE Centers of Lucca, Milan, Rome, London and New York by Professor Becker, who received the Nobel Prize in 1992 for having extended economic research to fields like sociology, demography and criminology, and for having demonstrated how economic factors influence the decision-making process even in areas previously considered by researchers to be dominated by habit and irrationality.
