The Preiss Company (“TPCO”), the largest provider of off-campus student housing for North Carolina State University, Clemson University, and UNC Charlotte and the second largest provider for the University of Texas in Austin, is proud to announce their sponsorship of The Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce’s Business After Hours networking event. The event, presented by Triangle Business Journal, will be held on Monday, June 4th from 5:30-7:00PM at SPCA of Wake County Curtis Dail Pet Adoption Center located at 200 Petfinders Lane in Raleigh.
Business After Hours is one of The Chamber’s most popular networking functions. TPCO founder and Chief Executive Officer, Donna Preiss, is delighted to be sponsoring the event and says that Business After Hours is a great way for busy professionals to stay connected in the business community.
“Like many business owners, I find it difficult to meet with other professionals in a relaxed and social environment,”
Preiss also serves on the SPCA Board, which gives her sponsorship added personal value and satisfaction. “I grew up on a farm in Guilford County and have also been connected to animals,” explains Preiss. “Animals have always been my best friends and so it’s no surprise why the SPCA is so special to me.” The Preiss Company is also a big supporter of the SPCA. Founded in 1967, the SPCA is celebrating 40 years of saving lives. The organization is currently promoting their spay/neuter campaign. Carole Lawler, Development Director of the SPCA of Wake County, says that there is clearly an epidemic of pet over-population and that the SPCA is doing its part to help end this problem.
“We’re so grateful and proud of our business and community partnerships,”
The SPCA of Wake County has launched a Business Membership Program in an effort to partner with the local business community. More information about this opportunity will be available at the event and on the SPCA’s website.
Contrary to public understanding, the SPCA is not affiliated with the ASPCA and is not a government agency. The organization currently has over 500 active volunteers that contribute enough hours to equate to 13 full-time employees. A contribution of $1,000 enables the SPCA to rescue, vaccinate, deworm, test for deadly diseases, and provide spay/neuter surgery to 2 adult cats, 11 kittens, and 8 puppies.
Business After Hours is free for employees of member firms. For more information, contact Sarah Gaskill, Chamber Membership Services Coordinator, at (919) 664-7034 or sgaskill@raleighchamber.org.
