Because dogs don't clean up after themselves, one local business is on doody patrol and their business is really cleaning up.
Two former internet entrepreneurs, Josh Smith and Jordan Falconer, have left the internet world and have joined the scooper world. Forming the company, ScooperMan Pet Waste Removal Service, www.myscooperman.com
"They poop, we scoop," said Josh Smith, owner of ScooperMan.
ScooperMan is one of the first pet waste removal service's in the Fresno area.
"People don't like picking up after their dogs; They never will like it. I love working outside, I love working with dogs, so it really seems like a perfect fit," said Smith.
These entre-maneurs began with a plastic bucket and shovel, but have evolved into a well oiled scooper machine; sporting company shirts with their logo, ScooperDog.
"We're number one in the number two business," Josh and business partner Jordan laughed.
"The last thing people want to do on Saturdays is clean up after their dogs and yet it's something that needs to get done and this is a service that's economical and has worked out great for many people," said Jordan co-owner of ScooperMan.
"You figure twice a day, seven days a week, you're looking at about 14 piles of poop," said Falconer.
"You're dog did his duty, let us do ours," added Smith.
The pet industry is over $37 billion, but it's not just health services and clean-up, it includes boutiques, hotels and spas.
Josh Smith and Jordan Falconer began the business in Fresno California and have expanded into most of the Central Valley of California.
