‘That’s the point of the new service’ Steve told me yesterday, ‘A Home In Montenegro’ is a free information service that revolves around the company’s new website http://www.ahomeinmontenegro.co.uk. There’s a wealth of information available but we’re also offering advice on all aspects of making investment in Montenegro from legal pointers to the basic issues of opening bank accounts. There a real demand for it and I’ve had enquiries at a rate of knots lately sometimes several per day. Visitors get direct access to me giving them the chance to speak to someone they know has first hand experience, that’s always worth it’s weight in gold. I also have an extensive range of contacts including most of the main agents and I even have hundreds of properties on the website so prospective investors can see what’s available and for what sort of price before they go over.
‘Just about anything and everything has been selling,’ Steve explained ‘everybody from developers and international businessmen to those simply seeking an investment for a retirement plan have been buying in Montenegro.’
So are the streets paved with gold I enquired? ‘There’s been a lot more competition recently in terms of people wanting to buy and that has pushed prices up a certain amount, not only that there’s been a lot of interest from the ‘Nuevo riche’ from eastern block countries like Russia where businessmen in a changing climate have suddenly found themselves with a pocket full of ‘loose change’ and some of these have even been buying property blind. But despite this the market remains a genuine opportunity with some strong potential gains. Probably one of the best opportunities right now is in the rental market what’s known as buy-to-let.
‘After the troubles in the former Yugoslavia the nation divided into the smaller regions we know now of which Montenegro is only one. Infrastructure is being rebuilt as Montenegro seeks to join the EU and new businesses are looking to settle there. Major cities are expanding and the younger people are finding much better career opportunities, simply put the economy is growing and a greater requirement for rental property is being seen. That’s where I would advise people to make their principle investment right now.’
And advising people is just what Steve Tattershall does. Featured recently in the Daily Telegraph, Daily Mail and Homes Overseas Magazine, he’s invested in a variety of countries around the world, even in Morocco. He currently has major investments in Bulgaria and Montenegro but it’s Montenegro he’s positive is the real winner. ‘We’ve realised fantastic returns on investment over the last couple of years, percentages it seems hard to think of achieving in other countries over the same period of time.’ Steve is now available full time for the ‘A Home In Montenegro’ service although he’s often abroad he always returns calls and email enquiries and invites anybody interested in investing in Montenegro to talk to him.
