Mt Xia announced today the offering of a new peer-to-peer e-mail system designed to avoid and circumvent e-mail taxes currently being pushed through congress ("Net taxes could arrive by this fall" By Declan McCullagh, News.com, May 23, 2007). Mt Xia's e-mail gateway provides redundant communication mechanisms utilizing the Internet and/or alternate communication systems to other similar gateways, thus avoiding a taxable conduit. The end user desktop systems have the capability of communicating directly with one another to eliminate the need for a centralized e-mail server. The result is that end user desktops are in control of the e-mail send/receive process which leaves no centralized processing mechanism that can be taxed.
