The movie was screened in the Un Certain Regard Section of the festival to a captivated audience that initially laughed at some of the bazaar visuals and then were stunned by the underlining reality as the plot unfolded. The locations are as diversely surprising as the script like a jigsaw puzzle that seems impossible to piece together yet somehow blends into a spiritually uplifting Harmony Korine cocktail.
The story line puts recognisable celebrities in strange and unexpected environments that sparks off a triangle of domestic trouble, comedy and lust all rolled into one. A memorable scene is a steamy encounter between 'Maddona' and 'Charlie Chaplin' that has already thrown Norfolk born actress, Melita Morgan, into hot newspaper headlines across the UK.
The Star studded film has produced some fantastic performances and has elevated the Blonde Bombshell from Norwich, Melita, into the International limelight. "Appearing at the internationally - renowned festival was a lifelong ambition fulfilled," said Melita "Having a Norfolk girl appearing at Cannes in a movie is really something. I am hoping it will lead to more work through, with agents in London and the United States showing interest. I have done Maddona and Marilyn, but they are just two of my roles as an actress. I would love to do some more challenging roles such as period drama, horror or thrillers," she added.
Melita has done Marilyn and Maddona roles all over the world, and last year appeared in a film with Sir Bob Geldoff, called I Am Bob, that is due to debut at the New York film festival. The PR team at Melita's Norfolk based agency, Amber Models UK, have stepped up promotions with hundreds of exclusive photographs to keep up with the demanding Months ahead.
