PRLog (Press Release) – Increasing capacity for growing service demand and future-proofing for SkyWave D+ Customers

Baltimore, MARYLAND – May 22, 2007 – Speaking at the MSUA-4 Conference in Baltimore, Maryland, SkyWave Mobile Communications, the leading supplier of D+ communications products and services, today announced it has completed the first of a series of significant enhancements to its D+ network to meet the needs of today and tomorrow’s growing demand for SkyWave’s D+ satellite communications service.

This investment substantiates SkyWave’s commitment to expanding and enhancing the D+ service. The state-of-the-art network ensures today’s users of SkyWave D+ can continue to leverage their current investments to take advantage of future enhancements. As additional features and capabilities are delivered, SkyWave customers will benefit from increasing performance, greater flexibility and security, while continuing to receive the dependability and world class customer service which they have come to rely on for their high-value applications.

“Before the enhancements to the SkyWave network were placed in-service, the network was tested in various conditions to ensure quality dependable service delivery,” says Peter Rossiter, CTO for SkyWave. “The SkyWave D+ network has been tested to the high standards of Inmarsat and has received Inmarsat approval for commercial service with the Inmarsat satellite network.”

“Significantly increasing the capacity and building on the robustness of SkyWave’s D+ network is our first step,” added Rossiter. “Shortly, we will be introducing major increases in performance and reductions in power consumption that will drastically expand the range of applications for D+.”
