Ann Arbor - May 16, 2007 - Omega Gamma Pi Fraternity, Inc., is a new national social fraternity developed by a group of freshman and sophomores at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor just a few months ago. At the university, many students participate in the Greek system, joining social, honor, professional, and service fraternities and sororities. Omega Gamma Pi, or as the brothers like to call themselves, OGP, has recently been inducted into the Multicultural Greek Council at the University of Michigan, making it the eleventh organization on the council. The University on a whole has close to 60 chapters among four Greek councils.
The National Founding Father line of the new Fraternity consist of Nikhil Chaudhri, Abhinav Chordia, Zoheb Hajiyani, Anupam Kathpalia, Riyaz Maredia, Fayaz Momin, Ram Narayan, Niranjan Ramadas, Ashwin Ramnath, Rahil Roopani, Atishay Sinha, and Zoha Mohammed. Recently achieving incorporated status, the organization is on the verge of having non-profit added to their credentials. Recently finalizing their logo, the organization is on the verge of becoming distinguished in Ann Arbor and eventually expanding across the east and west coast of the United States. The Fraternity's marketing campaign successfully started on Friday, March 30th, 2007, when the organization threw their launch party entitled “Genesis” at a local club in Ann Arbor. With powerful marketing skills and an enthusiastic crowd at the party, the Fraternity became the topic of discussion among various students.
