For Immediate Release
(Williamsburg, VA – May 6, 2007) The Business Scribe, Inc. today introduced “E-Williamsburg – and beyond” – a free new email newsletter that features travel, entertainment and activities in and around Williamsburg, Virginia.
The first newsletter begins with “Ten things to know before you go to Jamestown 2007 Anniversary Weekend – May 11-13 at Historic Jamestowne and Jamestown Settlement. These include the warning that no public parking is available at these sites during the weekend and provides information about the substitute parking lots and shuttle bus service.
The newsletter picks the three “must see” events, including a joint concert by the Virginia and Richmond Symphony Orchestras, special musical presentations by Bruce Hornsby, Chaka Kahn, and Ricky Skaggs and the Anniversary Week Finale with a 400-piece orchestra and a 1,007 voice choir. Music and narration will interpret the days of those first settlers at Jamestown 2007.
More than 33,000 tickets have been sold to date for the 3-day event. Because of the crowd, the newsletter recommends concentrating on the staged outdoor events rather than trying to get into the many new indoor attractions such as the Archaearium archeology museum at Historic Jamestowne and the America’s Glory and World of 1607 exhibitions at the Jamestown Settlement. These are all spectacular but because they will undoubtedly attract large crowds during the Anniversary Weekend are best left for less busy days.
Security will be very tight. The E-Williamsburg newsletter lists objects you can’t carry with you to the event – such as coolers, laptops, and – of course, weapons of any type. Cameras, binoculars, small diaper bags are acceptable. All bags are subject to search and prohibited items could be confiscated. You can’t even use money or credit cards for food or other purchases in Anniversary Park. You must buy “script” at the Information blue and white tents throughout the park.
The first issue of the “E-Williamsburg and beyond”newsletter can be viewed now at www.virginiahospitalitysuite.com . Anyone can subscribe free of charge to future issues by providing only their email address (no names or other information required to protect everyone’s privacy).
