Russia tries to bully Estonia - Internet activism rise to protect the Baltic Democracy

Russia is triying to bully Estonia: storming its embassy in Moscow. Sending threats and minacing to invade the Country. Launching cyberattacks. But Internet activisms rise to protect the Baltic Democracy against sovietization

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - May 04, 2007 -
Estonia has recently been featured in the media for the riots which stormed Tallinn. Now, there is little press coverage abroad about the serious threats received by Estonia. To bring the issue in the spotlight again, a spontaneus viral e-mailing started online.

Internet users are sending/receiving appeals to support Estonian sovereignity against the threats of a new sovietization. Estonia is part of European Union, so any attack on its sovereignity is an attack on European Union as a whole. Also, Estonia is not a big Country. Due to its sizes, international support is necessary to fully protect its sovereignity.

Russia is throwing every kind of threats on Estonia: playing the "oil" card; violating diplomatic conventions; inviting Russians to invade Estonia; inviting Russians in Estonia to arm and revolt; hacking institutional and news websites; using dis-information to brainwash ethnic Russians about what really happened during and after WWII; etc.

Acting now, and taking a position to strongly support Estonia, is easy. It just takes words. But if we wait and act after some more tragedies happen, then the price to pay may be much higher. This is exactly what internet users are asking for: to contact representatives at local, national and European/UN level. Tell them you support Estonia. Tell them every sovereign Country has a right to live in peace without neighbouring countries' interference. Tell them that any attack on Estonia is an attack on Europe. Also, ask the media to keep you update about what is happening in Estonia. And tell your friends to do the same.
