Playdate Kids Publishing Thrives At 2007 La Times Festival Of Books

Los Angeles, CA (April 30, 2007)— Leave it to Playdate Kids Publishing to make the L.A. Times Book Festival just a little bit more… playful. This past weekend, on April 28-29, 2007, Playdate Kids Publishing featured their new musical series at the 2007 Los Angeles Times Festival of Books on the UCLA campus.

Children and parents alike enjoyed the acoustic music performed by the author, Tim Friedlander, while publisher, Tena Fanning, encouraged sing-alongs and danced with the gathering crowd of book lovers of all ages.  The “Playdate Kids” trademark of colorful illustrations captured kids’ attention while older booth visitors lauded the books for including multi-cultural characters that “represented real people.”

Author Tim Friedlander shares, “The music was definitely a draw for the crowds. I’m a little hoarse today, but it was totally worth it to see how motivated parents are to read with their kids.”

Playdate Kids Publishing also had their animated DVD “The Playdate Kids” playing at the booth. “Parents and kids loved the movie and the ‘pay it forward’ message. Kids would walk by just to look at the booth but they would end up sitting in the colorful director chairs and watching the entire show. Parents literally had to drag them away,” says Fanning.
