FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Apr 30, 2007 -
Vancouver, British Columbia, April 30th – A study of over 50,000 women daters aged thirty and over on PlentyofFish.com from April 19th-25th, 2007 reveals that 35% contacted men 5 or more years younger than themselves.  Markus Frind, Founder and CEO of Plentyoffish.com says, ”It’s not just men who want to date a few years younger these days. Women in their thirties, forties and older are pursuing younger men on dating sites.”

In the USA, of the 23,024 women who initiated contact with men, 38% sought out men at least 5 years younger than themselves and 10% messaged men at least 10 years younger. North of the border, in Canada, the results were similar. Of the 17,684 women who participated, 31% emailed men at least 5 years younger and 8% sent messages to men at least 10 years younger.

The results held up internationally as well. In the UK, of the 7,511 women who initiated contact with men, 41% contacted men at least 5 years younger and 11% messaged men at least 10 years younger. The trend was even the same in Australia, where 1,974 women participated in the study. 31% of the women there approached men at least 5 years younger and 8% chatted with men at least 10 years younger.

Worldwide, in total, 35% of the women involved in the study were likely to initiate contact with men at least 5 years younger than themselves. Regarding the results, Mr. Frind says,”It doesn’t really matter where you’re from or if you are male or female. Many people look for younger partners hoping for a more exciting relationship. Demi and Ashton were the exception a few years ago, but by proving it works, more women than ever are comfortable looking to younger men for love.”
