Bringing PLAY to the forefront of business! Using play to unleash potential!
What if you were told that childhood items like finger paints and crayons are changing the board rooms of corporate America? And one woman with wild curly hair was getting executives across the country to recalibrate work and life balance through play dough?

Job stress is on the rise for most Americans, to the detriment of our health and productivity. Unlike their European counterparts, who enjoy 5 weeks of vacation each year, 47% of U.S. executives don't even use most of their 2 weeks of allotted time-off. Fortune 500 magazine warns that this stress has caused a “historic problem” for the U.S. economy, stating that America needs to shift “from the disciplines of logic and linear thinking to the intuitive, nonlinear processes of creativity and imagination.” A bubbly Palo Alto working mom is on a mission to show and tell America how to do just that-- even if it means wearing glitter under our business suits.

Play activist and life coach Jenny Ward, founder of Playward, has a vision to bring balance back into our lives through creative methods that are inspiring change in people from corporate executives to over-worked homemakers. Jenny’s philosophy comes from the belief that imagination is key in problem solving, creativity, expansion, and team work. Confronting the causes of burnout in the workplace and the related strain on families, Jenny’s workshops are bringing a fresh new perspective to "balance" by going beyond the typical stress-management strategies.

Jenny’s workshops and seminars use lectures and interactive exercises to foster an environment of confidence, teamwork and trust among co-workers. Participants are encouraged to think differently and play differently to increase their efficiency and enjoy life. One Merrill Lynch executive commented after the workshop, ”Jenny treated us like human beings, not just a group of producers. It felt great.”

Jenny’s success has resonated across the country with clients as varied as Wells Fargo to the New York City Chamber of Commerce to YMCA Corporate and the Learning Annex, who have embraced her methods and philosophy for bringing balance back into their lives and turning play into profit.

For the development of a feature story on how Jenny Ward, a local Palo Alto woman, is changing the tune of corporate America through play activism, I can offer you:

-An interview with Jenny Ward, CPA Playward
-Testimonies from corporate workshop attendees
-An invitation to one of Jenny's upcoming workshops
I'll follow up with you in the coming days. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for additional information. And in the meantime, to quote Jenny Ward: Go out and PLAY! I triple dog dare you!
