Touhey started his commercial real estate career in Arizona in the mid 1980’s with a large real estate brokerage firm. In the early 1990’s, after learning about the industry through his family’s holdings, Touhey moved to Texas and purchased several self storage properties from the Resolution Trust Corporation in Texas, Florida and Arizona. Later settling in California with his family, Carl is now exclusively dedicated to the brokerage of self storage investments.
Carl has been an active leader in the Northern California Storage Operator’s Network and the Texas Mini Storage Association. He has also been a regular speaker and discussion leader at many of the self storage industry’s trade shows and conferences.
With his experience owning and operating several self storage properties and as one of the most successful brokers in the industry, Touhey’s experience and insights enable him to provide knowledge and expertise most brokers do not have. “When an owner asks me to sell their property, they know they are working with someone who truly understands their business,” says Touhey. “Each property is a combination of real estate investment and business enterprise, I understand them both.”
