At this time there is no established standard for access, display quality, or ringtone type which is aimed at people requiring any kind of accessibility functionality.
Tyler Regas said, "I was spurred into action when my father, who has diminished hearing and wears hearing aids, purchased a new phone and I was forced to purchase a ringtone that he could hear."
This is unacceptable. While we're sure that the phone makers would prefer to regulate themselves on this matter, we have no seen sufficient awareness of this problem.
That is the aim of the AccessiTone Initiative. Our aim is to bring this issue to the attention of the phone makers and wireless carriers around the world and present them with a standard which would benefit all people.
So, join us today and lets try to make a difference for people who don’t have a choice in whether they can see, hear, or feel? The global wireless market is so large and complete on this little green planet, its a moral requirement.
All we want is a standard. Join us.
