The lavishly designed and illustrated dual publication sold out early on the final day of the event as fans scrambled to get their hands on a copy.
Respected rugby journalist and commentator Nigel Starmer-Smith, who has been reporting on major tournaments around the world for more than three decades, called it "as good as any rugby programme that I have encountered over the years".
The programme and pocket guide also received excellent feedback from fans, officials and players, leaving Two Up Front project director Simon Wait to reflect on another hugely successful publishing venture on behalf of the Hong Kong Rugby Football Union.
"This was our third year of publishing the Sevens programme and pocket guide and each time we've raised the bar in terms of design quality, editorial content and inventiveness,"
"We pioneered the dual publication format when we came on board with the Sevens in 2005. Many fans like to keep the programme in their bag or hotel room, to be saved as a permanent souvenir of the event, while carrying around the pocket guide so they can keep up with matches and fill in the score boxes.
"All along, our aim has been to give the world's greatest sevens tournament a publication befitting its status and we feel we have truly done that."
A key feature of the 2007 programme was the eye-catching cover, conceived and designed by Two Up Front, which featured a close-up image of top Hong Kong model Ali Lee dressed as a rugby fan with Hong Kong's bauhinia flag painted on her face.
Two Up Front used acclaimed artist Alex Lam, a specialist in Chinese opera make-up, for the face painting and the cover was shot at Blow Up Studios by leading photographer Gareth Brown.
"The concept was to get away from a conventional rugby action photograph but still have an image that was uniquely Hong Kong and which conveyed the fun and excitement of the Sevens," added Mr. Wait. "We were delighted with the end result."
Two Up Front also publishes the HKRFU's official magazine, "Rugby Talk", and the souvenir programmes for the GFI HKFC Tens rugby tournament and UBS Hong Kong Open golf showpiece.
In addition, the company handles worldwide PR for the GFI Hong Kong Tens, the UBS Hong Kong Open and the TCL Classic golf tournament in China.
