Canoe & Kayak Season Opens in Southern Ontario

Promise for a Long Safe Year Set into Motion
By: Grand Experiences

April 17, 2007 - PRLog -- The first brave paddlers have already set their paddles in motion, and the waters of the Grand River and its tributaries have seen the first boating action of the season. As early as the last weekend in March, rafters could be seen paddling down the Nith River, through scenic Paris, Ontario.

While the majority of trips so far this spring have been rafting-based, which offers a safe, secure way to experience the high flows of spring water, kayaks have also been plunging into the waters. Anyone paddling should be sure to take the utmost in safety precautions, and consult their local outfitter to determine if there are unforeseen risks or hazards. While spring high-waters are a cause for serious precaution, it is always important to paddle responsibly.

Grand Experiences in Southern Ontario’s largest canoe & kayak outfitter, offering a wide range of trips on the Grand River and its tributaries. Winner of awards in customer service, tourism, entrepreneurship, and staff training, the G.E.C.K.O. staff are river experts.
