THE FAMILY GROOVE (TFG), The hippest parents' place in cyberspace, is shaking up the ‘hood: parenthood and our neighborhood alike.  TFG will host its debut women’s only cocktail party, THE FAMILY GROOVE Spring Fling, on Tuesday, May 1st at Diney’s Place, Home of the Children’s Cultural Center, Red Bank from 7-9pm.  

Inspired to take women behind the pages of their online magazine, TFG founders Jillian Swartz, Red Bank, and Amy Beth Sestito, Rumson, say: “THE FAMILY GROOVE is so much more than a magazine. With our hip tips, top trend reports, celebrity interviews, spotlight on moms from around the world, interactive blogs, weekly email blasts and live Amber Alerts, we foster a forum for all child rearers —a modern day coffee clutch in the Internet’s global village.” With a goal of helping parents find the harmony in their lives, Sestito and Swartz are bringing a live version of their site into the local communities, starting first with their hometown and then taking their unique wine, women and swag party on the road.

On Tuesday, May 1st, TFG will turn the coffee clutch into a spectacular experiential cocktail party featuring fashion, beauty, shopping, cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, swag and more, offering moms a brief but much-needed respite from their child-weary lives. The Children’s Cultural Center will be transformed into an intimate lounge, styled by Motif of Red Bank, where women can mingle, share their stories, enjoy a night with friends and meet other hip women like themselves.  As with the magazine, guests can expect to experience the hottest and coolest trends for women and children.

THE GIVE BACK
In keeping with TFG’s commitment to their community, two area charities will be showcased: the Children’s Cultural Center (CCC), a Branch of the Community YMCA, and C.H.A.S.E. for Life. A silent auction with proceeds benefiting the CCC and CHASE will include exclusive products and services, including a limited edition Graco stroller designed by fashion icon Cynthia Rowley, a dress by hot NYC designer Huminksa (www.huminska.com) and a comprehensive fitness makeover package.  A suggested $10 door donation will also benefit the Children’s Cultural Center.

THE SCENE
Laura Mercier (www.lauramercier.com) will be upping the gorgeous factor with a complimentary beauty bar. Local psychic Pam Furlong of Moonstruck in the Galleria will be telling fortunes, cask 591 of Long Branch (www.cask591) is serving up savory hors d'oeuvres and decadent desserts, all paired with a delicious wine tasting courtesy of West End's Court Liquors, who will also be serving bellinis and acai cocktails. Celebrity chef David Burke (new owner of David Burke Fromagerie in Rumson) has even donated his world-famous GourmetPops (www.gourmetpops.com). The attendees will be invited to scoop up some of the hottest swag this side of the Sundance Film Festival and will also be treated to must-snag gift bags, stuffed with goodies and more from TFG's star advertisers like Angara (www.angara.com), too. A trunk show by kiddie couture store Bellie and Katrina (www.bellieandkatrina.com) of Red Bank and Hoboken will also be on-site to tickle the fancies of New York and New Jersey's in-the-know women.
