“I am honored that I was asked to speak at both of these valuable educational events,” said Lumpkin. “Starting a small business and enabling it to thrive is no easy task. Events such as these provide entrepreneurs at all stages of business development access to firsthand knowledge of the ongoing process of maintaining a small business.”
On Friday, April 13, Lumpkin will serve as a panelist at the 2nd Annual June Kay Campbell Women in Leadership Symposium at St. Augustine’s College. This year’s theme, “Women Empowering Women through Mentoring and Networking,”
Lumpkin will be one of three speakers during the Women in Business panel discussion, held from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., and will give a 15-minute presentation focused on marketing alternatives over the course of your business life cycle.
As part of National Small Business Week, Lumpkin will also participate in a small business panel discussion on Monday, April 23 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Cameron Village Regional Library. The program, entitled “Women Entrepreneurs Tell All! Triangle Business Success Stories,” will feature four local women business owners. Each will provide a 20-minute presentation, with Lumpkin sharing the story of her business’s evolution and how she met and overcame specific business challenges.
Following the presentations there will be time for audience discussion and networking. The program is one of four in a Small Business Week at the Libraries series that will be hosted at Wake County libraries throughout the week.
Lumpkin co-founded Alternate Access, a leading provider of converged communications solutions, with her husband, Kelly, in 1993.
