HU COMPILATION ALBUM COMING SOON
Hampton, Va. – It all started with one simple vision: “To expose the musical talent at Hampton University.”
Since its inception, Penykap Music Entertainment has teamed up with the University’s radio station WHOV 88.1 FM to present a cross-section of multi-talented HU musical artists. The album will feature Hampton University students, as well as Hampton University alumni, showcasing their musical talents in the following categories and genres: inspirational music, hip-hop, and rhythm & blues. A portion of the album’s proceeds will be donated to the Hampton University music department, and the remaining amount will be put towards next year’s project. “This year’s compilation is the best project we’ve ever worked on,” expressed Chris Elliott, president and founder of Penykap Music Entertainment. Elliott continued, “I am sure that all of the artists and producers would agree that the project was a long and strenuous process, but in the end has proved once again that through God, anything is possible.”

Penykap was founded in February, 2004 at Hampton University, and has produced two previous compilation albums. In April, 2004, it released “From the Ground Up,” and in April, 2005, it released “Not Too Far Away.” Participating musical alums have included HU faculty, students, alumni, and graduate students. “Insurrection”
