Karting is fast becoming one of the nation’s favourite recreational hobbies and for anybody who has been privileged enough to have experienced this fantastic sport, it’s not hard for them to see why.
With Government proposals to try and get young people in the UK more active becoming a major agenda, there has never been a better time to discover something new for you and your children.
There is a surprising number of Karting Circuits in the UK and it’s highly likely that one is operating in your area.
Paul Simpson, 17, went along to his local circuit in Northampton during the summer holidays last year. He’s now a regular visitor to the Northampton Karting circuit and the sport has given him an alternative to watching TV or playing video games.
“I’m really enjoying my karting. I go at least once a month, sometimes twice, and every time I go I seem to enjoy more than the last time,” said Paul.
Karting can be a terrific development tool for your children. They learn to appreciate the need to negotiate obstacles and tricky turns with a variety of speeds and judgment.
Paul has seen his lap times gradually improve in the short time he’s been taking part in karting and it has made him more determined to get better.
“I feel like my Karting skills are getting better all the time. I will be down at Northampton again over Easter, only this time I’m bringing a few mates from school along,” said Paul.
The Karting sites all have fantastic facilities and safety is of paramount importance. Full briefings and tuition is provided by experienced members of the circuit’s staff. There are a wide range of different packages available, for both adults and children.
Karting could well be the hobby your child is looking for, giving them an activity that will excite them whilst keeping them occupied at the same time.
With more and more inner cities and villages becoming over-run with youths who have nothing to keep them busy, karting has an essential role to play in keeping our kids off the streets and out of trouble.
We can expect a great deal more Government drives to keep children active as the 2012 Olympics approach. With the Easter holidays fast approaching there has never been a better time to get children involved in a sport or activity, which is why the Karting Circuits of the UK are becoming busier by the week.
