Being the disciple of World renowned Gurus Late Ustad Chhamma Khan of Delhi Gharana followed by his son Padamshree Late Ustad Shafaat Ahmed Khan become the powerhouse performer of TABLA. Outstanding features of Deepak’s own natural & innovative style of compact solo tabla playing with commendable awareness of rhythm as he does not play on the tabla, he lives it which keep the audience spellbound. It was no surprise that when at the age of 14 with his sheer virtuosity and timeless supply of rhythmic melody and creativities on tabla won the highest award meant for teenagers, the National “BAL SHREE” Award 1996 presented by the President of India Late Dr. Shank Dayal Sharma.
