FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Apr 02, 2007 -
According to UK-based market research firm Merchant Research & Consulting Ltd., the demand for carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) has stabilised since 2005, growing at close to 1.7-1.8%.

The annual demand for CMC in Russia and other CIC countries is about 60-65K mt, while Russia consumes 6K mt/y. Currently, Russia features 13 facilities manufacturing Na-CMC of various grades.

The fastest growth of consumption is demonstrated by the food industry (diary products, ice-cream). The global consumption growth rate within this sector is 3.5% a year.

The CMC consumption growth in the oil industry is not on the current agenda, since oil recovery is performed in deeper layers where temperature is higher and CMC application is impeded.

Slower rates of CMC consumption have been demonstrated by the following sectors: water purification purposes, as well as the production of glues, paints, detergents, polishes, ceramics (CMC consumption growth rate in paint and varnish industry is 1.5% a year).

Main CMC application sectors include production of detergents, oil industry, pharmaceuticals, textile industry, food industry, etc.

The Carboxymethyl Cellulose Market Research also features the following information:

Global CMC market state;
Russian CMC market volume;
World CMC prices;
Prospective CMS consumers;
To name only a few subjects.
